Ahhh......The Seaboard Coast Line....one of my favorite fallen flags. The thought of black and yellow first generation diesels rolling through the cotton fields of the deep south serve as inspiration for my eventual layout.
I will be the proud owner of 3 SCL SD35's here in a week or so when a package from Atlas arrives!

Well the Seaboard Coast Line and the Atlantic Coast Line merged in July 1, 1967. In 1980, the SCL became majority owned by Chessie System, but operated as a seperate railroad until 1982 when the SCL, Louisville & Nashville, and the Clinshfield merged created the Family Lines System. The Family lines system was officially merged into Chessie System in and became the Seaboard System until 1986 when Seaboard and Chessie combined into a new company, CSX Transportation.
