I have visited the B&O,the RR Museum of PA.,the New Hope Valley, the Ky.RR Museum, the Tenn.Valley RR Museum, the Age of Steam Museum, the Arizona Ry Museum, the McCormick RR Park, and the Roundhouse Museum at Savannah,Ga.I have probably forgotten some. I think the B&O and the RR Museum of Pa. are the best I have visited.

I've only visited the Indiana Transportaion Museum, but I hang out there a lot. It's pretty cool. It's a working museum in that much of the equipment is used for service on a regular basis. I live nearby and it's not unusual to have to stop at a crossing for an F9 with a string of lightweight passenger cars with a few heavyweights thrown in. They also run a GP7, a GP9 & a VO1000 as well as freight equipment and cabeese(!).

I have been to many RR Museums, but the one I have worked at is the Arkansas Railroad Museum in Pine Bluff. That particular Museum is operated by the Cotton Belt Rail Historical Society and local volunteers. If you are an ALCO fan I strongly recommend that you put this museum on your list as a place to visit. The ARM has three large C-C ALCOs with several more possible exhibits in the very near future. The three large ALCOs are a UP C630, a Santa Fe RSD-15, and an SP RSD-12. The rumor mill has it that an AB pair of ALCO cab units will be placed in Pine Bluff by Ed Bowers and a MP RS-3. There was some talk about an SP RS-11, but that may be going to another museum.
The ARM is also the home of Cotton Belt 819, the last new Cotton Belt steam locomotive that was built in Pine Bluff in 1943. The 819 is undergoing restoration for a 2009 steam up.
